More information: An immersive orchestral, choral, and theatrical project over a decade in the making, The Moth was Devin Townsend’s most ambitious work. What began as a distant vision became reality when Townsend was invited to collaborate with the North Netherlands’ Orchestra and Choir.
Conceived from the ground up as a fully orchestrated narrative. Townsend spent years relearning musical fundamentals to write the score himself. The result was a meticulously crafted, emotionally driven piece where every instrument and voice had space to speak.
The Moth – The War (Live) documents the premiere of this grand musical piece in Groningen, The Netherlands in March 2025. Featuring the full orchestra and choir, conducted by Jukka Isakilla, as well as a band made up of collaborators new and old.
This is a limited CD + Blu-ray edition in 6-panel digipak with 12-page booklet. Featuring audio and video of the entire performance of The Moth.
