More information: Supertramp’s 1982 album, …Famous Last Words… was all too aptly titled for founding member Roger Hodgson, who left the group following its release. Hodgson was, however, on hand to support the record with a world tour during which the band traversed Europe, the UK, the US and Canada with their most ambitious live show to date.
Bolstered by guitarist Fred Mandel (Alice Cooper, Queen) and saxophonist Scott Page (Pink Floyd, Toto), Supertramp took to the CNE Grandstand in Toronto, Canada, on 24 August, for a live broadcast that captured the group in their stadium-slaying prime.
Drawing the curtain on what fans remember as the group’s classic line-up, the recording now stands as a reminder that Supertramp’s cerebral progressive-pop has lost none of its genius.
