More information: 'The Girl In The Cornfield' is an album of 15 songs, over a total of 59 minutes, which has been up to fifteen years in the making, with some of the songs written as far back as 2010. This album is all about the hopes and dreams of every human being, and is dedicated to all of the major musicians who have influenced Peter during his life.
The ‘The Girl In The Cornfield’ album showcases the amazing vocal talents of Steve Thorne (solo artist), Jimmy Flanders, Sally Minnear (the daughter of Kerry Minnear from Gentle Giant) and Jez Yates-Round, as well as regular collaborator Steve Christey (Jadis) on drums.
The album contains an array of different musical styles from the progressive epic ‘Embrace’, to grunge rock song ‘End Of Days’, from captivating piano piece ‘When Beauty Has Gone’, to the groove based songs ‘As The Waters Cover The Sea’ and ‘Sunset Blue’, from the Latin style ‘Carnival’, to instrumental pieces ‘Kill Me With Love’ and ‘The Girl In The Cornfield’, from the gospel songs ‘Water Of Life’ and ‘Christmas Night’, to the powerful ‘Rise Again’ and ‘Racing Cars’, and the ballad ‘Coming Home’. And yet this whole album has a power and unity to it, and a seamless flow throughout, from beginning to end. The cover illustrations are by Simon Williams, the artist who has done many of Pendragon’s classic album covers.
