More information: Heather Findlay, former lead vocalist and key songwriter with Mostly Autumn 1997-2010, since leaving the band has continually assembled a line-up of world class musicians to form the Heather Findlay Band/Trio and side project Mantra Vega. Having just completed the recording of a new solo album on which she enlisted collaborator/producer/guitarist Luke Morley of Thunder which is set for release next year, Findlay has meanwhile filmed a show with her trio line up. The show is presented on DVD & CD formats as ‘Aces & Eights ~ A Night In The Saloon Bar’. With a line-up of Findlay on vocals, acoustic guitar, lo whistle and alto recorder; Sarah Dean on Harp, percussion, alto recorder and harmony vocals & Martin Ledger on lead guitar and harmony vocals, the trio blend perfectly in performing Findlay’s career spanning live set with all the expected delicacy of a semi-acoustic trio, but also with an extremely surprising dynamic range for an ensemble of its size!

For the shoot, in April 2017 the Heather Findlay Trio took to the intimacy of a stripped back, laid back show in London town resulting in the unique and beautifully low-lit, Rembrandt-esque, ‘Aces & Eights - A Night In The Saloon Bar’ DVD and live album. Paring down the wall of sound usually found in the full line up of the Heather Findlay Band, the trio reveal more than just the fragility one might anticipate from a semi-acoustic performance with a surprising amount of power in explosive bursts of energetic frisson.

Line-up: Heather Findlay – (HF Band/Mostly Autumn/Mantra Vega/Odin Dragonfly) vocals, acoustic guitar, low whistle & alto recorder / Sarah Dean – (HF Band/Luna Rosa) harp, harmony vocals, percussion, alto recorder / Martin Ledger – (HF Band/Cloud Atlas) lead guitar & harmony vocals
