More information: The creative process for this new chapter began in 2023, shortly after the completion of NIGHTWISH’s 2024 album Yesterwynde. While Troy Donockley composed in the serene landscapes of Yorkshire, Tuomas Holopainen and Johanna Kurkela crafted melodies and lyrics from their home base in Kitee, Finland.
With guest musicians including Frank Van Essen (strings), Jonas Pap (cello), Juho Kanervo (basses), and the drumming and percussion courtesy of Nightwish’s Kai Hahto, Auri III - Candles & Beginnings is as lush as it is atmospheric.
