More information: Druckfarben’s roots can be traced back to the mid-80s high school days of guitarist Ed Bernard and drummer Troy Feener, two young progressive rock fans in the Toronto suburb of Scarborough. Not far away, bassis Peter Murray and keyboardist William Hare separately honed their chops on similar material, while singer Phil Naro fronted Billy Sheehan’s first band, Talas. The five led very successful careers as sidemen, frontmen, writers and performers working with many top names including Peter Criss, Lou Gramm, Coney Hatch, Lee Aaron, Red Rider, Honeymoon Suite, Tom Cochrane, Ron Sexsmith and Sass Jordan.
Many years later, they all realized that what they really needed to do was return to their musical roots and form a progressive rock band! After three years of performing prog classics by Yes, Genesis, Gentle Giant, King Crimson and others, it was time to record an album of original material: the self-titled debut, “Druckfarben,” was released in September 2011.
