Review: This is the new re-mastered edition of the classic 1978 debut album by NATIONAL HEALTH. Evolving from Canterbury stylists HATFIELD & THE NORTH, National Health featured the talents of Dave Stewart on keyboards, Pip Pyle on drums and Phil Miller on guitar along with guests such as Jimmy Hastings. At various times the group also included such luminaries as Bill Bruford, Mont Campbell and Alan Gowen. Released by Affinity Records in February 1978, the album is a classic of the “Canterbury” style. This re-mastered edition is issued alongside National Health’s “Of Queues and Cures” album.

'Lightdark' sees the Nosound identity evolve into something even more focused and powerful. 'Lightdark' inventively combines influences from '70s psychedelia, '80s/'90s ambient and contemporary progressive rock. Recorded in Italy, England and the US throughout 2006 and 2007, the album develops further the promise of debut album 'Sol29' and exhibits a stronger group identity which reveals a greater contrast between atmospheric detail and the walls of sound created by the band on stage.
