Review: Iona was formed during the late eighties and released their self-titled debut album in 1990. The band covers a number of styles including Celtic, progressive rock and even jazz and Christian elements. All the bands albums have received critical acclaim, as have the bands live performances over the years. The mainstays of the band are Dave Bainbridge, Joanne Hogg and David Fitzgerald, and former Kajagoogoo bassist Nick Beggs was a one-time member. There have also been some high profile guests perform with the band on their albums over the years including King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp. The band are also joined by respected multi instrumentalist Troy Donockley. More recently the band have been enjoying a break from touring and performing duties necessitated by vocalist Joanne Hogg taking time out to have a family. During this time however the band have embarked on a number of solo activities which has seen the release of a number of albums from Troy Donockley and Dave Bainbridge and occasional live concerts from the pair. Journey Into The Morn comes from 1996 and is quite rightly regarded as one of Iona's finest albums.

Review: British based band It Bites had big success in Europe and Japan back in the 1980´s with their highly critically acclaimed albums 'Once Around The World' and 'Eat Me In St. Louis'. After former lead singer and guitarist Francis Dunnery left, the band was going through a period of self re-defining. When in 2006 new singer John Mitchell (Frost, Arena, Kino) joined It Bites, all of a sudden they were back in the spotlight. 'The Tall Ships' is the first studio album for 20 years and proves that the band is still able to set the standard in their field of musical genres, which combines elements of Melodic Rock, Pop and the creative art of Progressive Rock.
