Review: Genesis have been one of the most influential band for generations of progressive rock bands. 1974 saw the release of The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, an epic prog rock monument tuned to perfection. However, when singer Peter Gabriel left after the supporting tou, the band started a long search for a new vocalist, eventually deciding to let drummer Phil Collins take over the microphone.

This 1980 concert at the Lyceum Ballroom in London on May 6th 1980, includes some of the band's greatest tracks.

Review: this is a disc that grows on you with each listen. The band as a whole is talented and very tight. The drumming is great and guitarist Michael Rank Jensen and keyboardist Olav Andersson are both impressive players. The songwriting is a bit derivative but if you’ve read any of my other reviews you’ll know that, for me, that is no great sin. I love music like this and if it borrows from Genesis, hey, no problem! Grand Stand plays some great music. (Progressive World)
