More information: Heather Findlay, former lead vocalist and key songwriter with Mostly Autumn 1998-2010, since leaving the band has continually assembled a line-up of world class musicians to form the Heather Findlay Band. The current line-up blends perfectly in performing Findlay’s career spanning live set both in the UK and Europe.
Having spent the year touring The Illusion’s Reckoning album to great acclaim, the band took to the studio throughout Autumn to creating this new offering. A seasonal, progressive, folk oriented release with a much more organic feel.
I am Snow is an album Findlay describes as a ‘fireside, candlelit, winter companion’ and is a collection of brand new frost inspired music, perfect for the winter months ahead, featuring the title track ‘I Am Snow’ - already tipped as possibly Findlay’s finest work to date - as well as exploring the re-visiting of cherry picked highlights from both her Mostly Autumn days and her well known collaborations with Ayreon mastermind, Arjen Lucassen.
Citing her as a big influence, Findlay also pays homage to Sandy Denny on the album which also includes a version of Fotheringay’s Winter Winds.
There's something for fans of artists like Sandy Denny, Fairport Convention, Pentangle, Thea Gilmore, Kate Bush, Jethro Tull, Karen Carpenter, Fleetwood Mac, Blackmores Night, Renaissance, First Aid Kit and The Pierces.
