More information: Formed in 1970, Emerson, Lake & Palmer were torchbearers of the progressive rock sound and one of rock’s first super-groups. The world-conquering, stadium-filling prog giants helped to broaden the audience for the genre from hundreds of thousands into tens of millions and were one the most commercially successful rock bands of the 1970s. Their first 7 album releases all made the U.K. albums chart top 10 and U.S. top 20.

Originally titled ‘The Best Seat In The House’, ‘In The Hot Seat’ is ELP’s ninth and final studio album. It was released in 1994 following their successful 1992 world tour comeback album ‘Black Moon’. The album comprises an interesting mixture of mainstream rock, classic ELP prog, melodic pop and finely crafted ballads. Among the well-produced ten tracks is the excellent ‘Hand of Truth’ and the deeply moving ‘Daddy’. Expertly re-mastered for the first time by celebrated rock studio engineer Andy Pearce.

The booklet in this gatefold, softpack, double CD set contains extensive, exclusive sleeve notes with recent band interviews by legendary rock journalist Chris Welch, and rare ELP archive photos. Features a foreword on the 140 gram LP format by Greg Lake.
